Ken Wilson from GT Advantage has worked with us at Northpine for a number of years providing training, advice, support and services such as customer and staff surveys. Ken has been a sounding board for ideas and assisted with the refining of strategy and actions. He has been an advisor to both the directors and the management team and has assisted us to navigate our way through both periods of growth and also the more difficult times.
When it has come to recruiting high calibre managers, Ken proved to be a real expert. Ken has always been highly professional..he has a broad commercial knowledge and experience and it comes with a very friendly persona, always a great combination.Bruce Larsen – Director and GM Northpine
We have been fortunate enough to have had Ken Wilson with us since November 2013, offering us a guiding hand as we grow our company. What has transpired has been a wonderful journey of transformation from a company run by two technicians with limited business ability, to a company which I believe is much more effective, accountable and profitable. We have never been in such a good position… The investment has been well worth it.Kevin Doar – Director Vitel Cabling
The Directors of Haigh Workman Ltd are delighted to have worked with Ken Wilson on the GT Advantage Team Optimisation Plan.
Ken has developed a specific programme, which for Haigh Workman has been tailored into 10 elements which we are still working through. The comprehensive staff survey and customer survey.. there was an incredible amount of good sentiment that shone through that reminded us that this is all about going from good to great. This information was shared with the whole company in a team conference, which resulted in the greatest coming together of the company that we have had.
The frontline leadership programme was another one day module and is also highly recommended. We are now just entering the phase of DISC profiling and team mapping for the leaders in our company, which I know will help our group dynamic. The final phases of our programme will look at internal structure, coaching for key staff, and future proofing of the business.
I have appreciated Ken’s highly professional and proactive approach towards our business and have no hesitation in recommending Ken to any business owners that want to up their game.John Papesch – Director and GM Haigh Workman
As a business mentor and coach Ken Wilson has assisted Rudolphs Ltd on several identified projects usually on a 6 month basis, since 2009. Some of these projects have been focused on:Caroline Erceg – Director Rudolphs

– Succession and Exit Planning
– Supervisory Staff Development (Front Line Leadership)
– General Manager Recruitment
– Change Management
Ken’s values, professionalism, knowledge and expertise, ability to relate to all, coaching and overall support we admire greatly. Wayne and I both hold Ken in the highest regard. We are thrilled to have Ken as a member of our Advisory Board.
Ken Wilson was involved with interviewing the Culham managers and staff individually along with various clients to gauge an insight of our business…and he then delivered a series of group sessions held in an engaging and positive way… The profiling of staff was both accurate and insightful giving the group a better understanding how to communicate clearly with different personal styles. We would recommend other companies to engage.Rob Kirwan – Director and GM Culham Engineering
I would like to take this opportunity to compliment you and your team on the Team Optimisation Programme completed for Northport, please find below some comments from the staff involved:
– The programme presented by Ken was the most enjoyable and relevant team building course I have ever attended and I went to quite a few while working within government departments!!
– I got the impression Ken had well researched our core functions as a business and tailored the material and style of presentation to ensure relevancy
– I found the Team Optimisation part of the program very useful as it showed a different more holistic perspective of the business of Northport
– Getting feedback from customers was worthwhile to remind us of the customer’s perspective and how a small action, consideration or shift in thinking can make all the difference
– I found the DISC profiling to be surprisingly accurate given the short questionnaire
– It was a fantastic programme. Ken easily engaged with all our team, even the most pessimistic ones! Ken’s delivery was what made the course, his approach made all staff relax and engage.
As you can see staff overall found the course to be of a very high standard and they are taking some of the lessons learned and applying them to our business already.Jon Moore – CEO Northport
Eighteen months ago we were trucking just fine – well so we thought! Today we have some structure and direction to the trucking. Individuals have become team players.
Your independent input has rewarded not only the company, the people, and the teams, but also our customers – the people that pay us. Your encouragement has had a very positive impact and fresh ideas that have been well received by all.
Our company has had its eyes cleaned and armoury stocked to achieve great things. Thank you.Greg and Michelle Curry – Coastline Roadmarkers
There were company conferences, the development of a management team, staff were engaged in all sorts of activities and information was filtered to staff for them to have a better understanding as to the running of our company.
Ken was involved in staff recruitment and dismissal, policy implementation, health and safety systems, ensuring we were aware of our legislative responsibilities and developing an exit strategy for myself.
Whenever we had a query or a crisis we could go to Ken and he would do his homework and get back to us with a plan or advice. I would highly recommend for all companies to go down this path.Sean McCaughan – Managing Director Siteworx Northland

Just a quick note to say thanks for all your support and effort over the years as a shareholder and director of ABL. I believe without your enthusiasm and encouragement we would not be as far advanced on our journey as we are now. I will miss your contribution at the board table with your level-headed, down to earth approach which often gets us back on track to concentrate on the real issues at hand.Bruce Taylor – ABL
