June 2021 25 June: Westpac stops cheques. 25 June: Rabobank stops cheques. 30 June: BNZ stops cheques. August 2021 27 August: ASB stops cheques. Kiwibank no longer accepts cheques (since February 2020).

Minimum wage increases on 1 April 2021

The adult minimum wage is increasing to $20 an hour from $18.90 an hour on 1 April 2021. The starting-out and training minimum wage rates will also increase, from $15.12 to $16.00 per hour.
