2022 livestock values for tax purposes

The National Standard costs for the 2021/2022 income year were released on 28 February 2022.  They are produced in the table below:

The NSC value of an animal is calculated with its cumulative costs and an adjustment for sales and purchases. For example a Rising 2 year sheep in 2022 may have a value calculated as below:

Rising 1 year 2021             $37.50^(a)

Rising 2 year 2022             $27.00 ^(b)

2022 NSC value                 $64.50          

(assuming no sales and purchases of stock during this period)

The 2022 National Average Market values are expected to be released in May 2022.
